A new book, "For the Sake of the Gospel: The mission, purpose, and history of the Stegall Seminary Scholarship Endowment Foundation," has just been released. The book, authored by George Littleton with a foreword by Bishop Paul L. Leeland, was debuted at the Foundation's 2015 Dinner of Celebration.
The book was brought about by Stegall Foundation Board of Director member Mr. Philip Young. An ardent supporter of the mission of financially supporting seminary students, Young hoped that through the book others may be inspired to give to the cause.
"It is a humbling experience to be approached by individuals who, for whatever reason, feel as both the story of your life and the great passion of your life are worth telling, but that was my experience when Philip Young and George Littleton approached me several months ago about this book project," writes Dr. Karl K. Stegall. "Philip, along with his wife, Angie, have been two of our Foundation's most loyal, generous, and faithful supporters through the years."
The book seeks to achieve three main goals:

- To record the history and purpose of the Stegall Seminary Scholarship Endowment Foundation, and to provide some biographical and philosophical background of the family for whom the Foundation is named;
- To help our supporters "give as they understand." We want our supporters to clearly understand the Foundation's mission and purpose, and in so doing, to be inspired to support the Foundation; and
- To inspire more young men and women to consider God's call upon their lives to enter church-related vocations, especially the ordained ministry.
