The Stegall Foundation works alongside other agencies and groups to serve our seminary students as they prepare to lead our churches. Your donations enable us to bridge the gap when an unexpected need arises. Recently, the Stegall Foundation was able to provide additional needed funds to our students.

Upon hearing of the reduction in Ministerial Education Funds, the Stegall Foundation board of directors voted to award to each student the additional $500 needed so that they would not experience a loss in financial assistance.

“In order to continue supporting our students into the future, the Alabama-West Florida Conference (AWF) Board of Ordained Ministry is reducing the amount of money awarded to each full-time seminary student by $500 per semester as of September 1, 2019,” says Rev. June Jernigan, Director of Ministerial Services for the AWF Conference. “Part-time seminary students will receive prorated amounts based on this reduction. Local pastors will not experience a reduction in monies awarded for Course of Study.”

“The Stegall Seminary Scholarship Foundation and the AWF Board of Ordained Ministry have developed a partnership over the years that focuses on a single priority – supporting our students who are called to serve God through the United Methodist Church,” says Jernigan. “We are so thankful that the Foundation is not only providing the $500 grant to students, but is also now assisting our full- time local pastors with scholarships to Course of Study. As we see a growing need for pastors, these monies support and encourage our local pastors in very tangible ways. We are thankful for the Stegall Scholarship Foundation and its ministry to the AWF Conference.”
